In
her mature work, Berenice D’Vorzon has
added an intensely personalized vision of nature
and its sexuality and force. She seeks to personally
partake of the experience of nature. Her fascination
with images of water and particularly swamps
has lead her to immerse herself in her subject.
She has viewed swamps from every possible angle,
from flying above them to traveling over them
in a small boat. She has photographed and sketched
tirelessly until she has partaken of the essence
swamp. The force of her feeling of being within
nature that is both beautiful and terrifying
has produced a body of work glorious in its
color and almost frightening in its rendition.
